‘Children Of Blood And Bone’ Film Adaptation Sets Principal Cast And Release Date

Gina Prince-Bythewood‘s movie adaptation of Children of Blood and Bone has found its principle cast in Thuso Mbedu as Zelie, Amandla Stenberg as Amari, Damson Idris as Inan and Tosin Cole as Tzain.

Also confirmed are Viola Davis as Mama Agba; Cynthia Erivo as Admiral Kaea; Idris Elba as Lekan; Lashana Lynch as Jumoke; and Chiwetel Ejiofor as King Saran.

In negotiations are Regina King as Queen Nehanda; Diaana Babnicova as Folake; and Bukky Bakray as Binta.

The film is based on the bestselling novel of the same name by Tomi Adeyemi. The story is set in an African fantasy kingdom in which a young woman goes on a quest to reclaim the magic that was violently stolen from her people. She and her brother ally with the daughter and son of the king to fight back against his brutal rule.

The movie releases January 15, 2027 in IMAX. Production is set to begin filming in South Africa in the coming weeks. [x]

Lisa Frankenstein will be released on Blu-ray and DVD on April 9 via Universal. The 2024 coming-of-age horror-comedy is currently available on PVOD and will hit Digital on March 29.

The cast for Children of Blood and Bone has been announced and somebody at Paramount dug deep in their pockets to secure all our favs! Set to be directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood and released in 2027. I haven’t been this excited since the announcement of the Black Panther cast in 2016.

Interesting thing I noticed in Can You Hear Me?

The Doctor's biggest fear, is that in some way, she and Tecteun are alike. A fear that is focused on in Flux's latter half (with Tecteun comparing the two of them and their 'experiments' (Tecteun's being the universe, the Doctor's being her companions)

It's way too similar of a shot to be simply another tease for the finale. I'm referring to the subtext, what the scene tells the viewer through framing and positioning of the character.

I'd say her past began to appear more and more present in her subconscious as the first two series progressed. In 'The Ghost Monument' she is made aware of it for the first time, in Spyfall Part 2 we get the first glimpse of her past, then in Fugitive of the Judoon it becomes more present in her conscious mind, the questions she has surrounding it, by Can You Hear Me? that subconscious fear that was unlocked by 'The Ghost Monument' - 'Fugitive of the Judoon' is shown through this scene here.
